Title: Genetic changes during human evolution and their phenotypic implications

 

The gain of human traits can be achieved by acquisition of genetic changes and natural selection during human evolution. We devised bioinformatics methods for systematic identification of genetic modifications that occurred during human evolution. We collected human genes showing disruptive mutations, exonic insertions, or amino acid changes, when compared with the orthologous mammalian genome sequences. We identified hundreds of genetic changes during human evolution which might be implicated in gain of novel phenotypes in humans.
